nauset marsh cruise

We went on a pontoon boat with a guide from the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and hauled up an eel pot full of crabs, which I thought looked kind of sketchy. But sloshing through the mud and digging for clams, hermit crabs, and snails was lots of fun. The best part, though, was tasting sea pickle, which grows right out there on the marsh and really tastes like a pickle.

cape cod beachcomber

It was recreational shellfishing day at Burton Baker Beach in Wellfleet, Mass. That's a bucket of oysters that guy is carrying. Mom and I biked there, so we didn't take home any loot.
